Orlando di Lasso: Sämtliche Werke, Band XIII (Motetten VII): Gemischter Chor mit Begleitung

The new volumes of the “Old Series” of the Lasso Complete Edition are not at all unchanged reprints. This can be seen in every chapter of the meticulous comments, whether it is the comments referring to the “old preface”, or to new aspects, but also pertaining to the modernized editorial guidelines. Particularly notable for Volume XIII and for the altogether 38 six-part motets of this volume are nine Marian Antiphons and, among them, three “Salve regina” settings that point to the Marian devotion at the Munich court, and to the composer’s deep faith.
